Stow Advertiser (defunct)

The Stow Advertiser – originally the Stowmarket Advertiser – was a weekly tabloid freesheet newspaper distributed to homes around the town of Stowmarket and nearby parts of central Suffolk, including Needham Market.

It was published by Archant Suffolk as part of its Star Advertiser series covering the eastern part of the county of Suffolk. The editorial offices of the series were and are in Ipswich, although there’s also an advertising office in Stowmarket.

Its name was abbreviated to the Stow Advertiser in its masthead following the launch of the Star Advertiser in October 2009.

Unlike the other editions of the Star Advertiser series (which were billed as companions to the Ipswich Star), the Stow Advertiser‘s web presence was a mini-site, now withdrawn, on the East Anglian Daily Times‘s website. (The link below no longer works.)

It came out on Thursdays. Free e-editions were also available on the website but have apparently been withdrawn.

It was replaced in February 2012 by the Stowmarket Mercury.
