Worksop Trader (defunct)

The Worksop Trader was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the north Nottinghamshire town of Worksop and nearby villages in the Bassetlaw district.

It was founded in 1970 and was published by North Notts Newspapers, a branch of the UK-wide Johnston Press group of regional newspaper publishers. It was a companion to their paid-for weekly title the Worksop Guardian and shared that paper’s editorial offices (in Worksop) and website.

There used to be two editions, one for Worksop Town and one for the villages, but the second edition was dropped in 2010.

It came out on Wednesdays.

It was closed in October 2012 following Johnston Press’s decision to focus efforts on its paid-for titles in the North East Midlands and South Yorkshire.
