Loughton & Buckhurst Hill Recorder (defunct)

The Loughton & Buckhurst Hill Recorder (colloquially, simply the Loughton Recorder) was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed by free pick-up and “brand-to-hand” distribution in the towns of Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell in Epping Forest’s “golden triangle” in Essex.

It was launched in February 2010 as a sub-edition of the Ilford Recorder, published by Archant London for the London Borough of Redbridge. The editorial offices (in Ilford) and website were shared with the parent newspaper.

It came out on Thursdays.

Along with the rest of the Recorder series, it underwent a facelift in March 2011 to make it “brighter, busier and more relevant”. However, the following July it was withdrawn from publication.
