Bracknell Forest Standard (defunct)

The Bracknell Forest Standard was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the central Berkshire town of Bracknell as well as the nearby towns of Sandhurst and Crowthorne.

It was launched in 1994 as the Bracknell & Wokingham Standard. In 2000 it split into two editions, one for the Bracknell area and one for Wokingham, and the newspaper was known as the Bracknell Forest & Wokingham Standard. The Wokingham edition became a totally separate entity, the Wokingham Times, in 2007.

It was published by Surrey & Berkshire Media, part of the Guardian Media Group until they sold it to Trinity Mirror in February 2010. The editorial offices were at S&B Media’s headquarters in Reading.

It came out on Thursdays.

It was replaced in late October 2013 by a new pickup freesheet with a much smaller circulation, The Bracknell Times.
