North Shropshire Chronicle

The North Shropshire Chronicle is a local sub-edition of the weekly tabloid the Shrewsbury Chronicle sold in the former local government district of North Shropshire, including the towns of Wem, Whitchurch and Ellesmere.

It’s published by Telford-based Shropshire Newspapers, the local division of the Midland News Association that also publishes the evening county-wide newspaper the Shropshire Star. The editorial offices are in Bellstone in Shrewsbury.

Although it’s been a separate edition of the Shrewsbury Chronicle for some years, it received its own separate front page only in 1999.

A price reduction and redesign were announced at the end of April 2009, at the same time that the Shrewsbury Chronicle switched to a part-paid, part-freesheet distribution model.

It comes out on Thursday mornings.
