Dover Express
It’s published by Kent Regional News & Media, part of what used to be the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper publishing division, Northcliffe Media; Northcliffe has been part of the Local World group since the end of 2012. The editorial offices are collocated with those of the Express‘s younger sister title, the Folkestone Herald, in Folkestone.
Prior to 2013 it had no website of its own; as with virtually all Northcliffe’s newspapers, it shared a common “thisis . . . .co.uk” website with Northcliffe’s other newspapers for the county or district, in this case thisiskent.co.uk. Local World took the decision early on that all their titles should have their own “publisher-branded” websites.
A sub-edition for Deal and Sandwich, the Deal & Sandwich Express, launched in 2009, was a freesheet which had a circulation nearly twice the size of the parent title prior to 2012. However, it switched to paid-for distribution and virtually ceased publication in January of that year, with only a few copies published for each edition. It ceased publication altogether in July 2012.
It comes out on Thursdays.
