Wirral News
It’s published by Trinity Mirror Merseyside (part of Trinity Mirror‘s North West & Wales division) from editorial offices in Birkenhead, although the correspondence address is in Liverpool. There are four editions:
- Birkenhead
- Bromborough & Bebington
- Heswall, Hoylake, West Kirby & Neston
- Wallasey
Its history goes back to 1877 and the foundation of The Birkenhead News and Wirral General Advertiser (the Birkenhead News and Advertiser from 1956, then simply the Birkenhead News from 1968). A Wallasey edition, The Wallasey News and Wirral General Advertiser followed in 1899 and was renamed the Wallasey News in 1965; the Bebington News joined them in 1936. Two more editions were established in 1976: the Heswall & Neston News and the Hoylake & West Kirby News. All were united under the Wirral News title in 1984. They split up again in 1989, but were reamalgamated once more in 2008.
All four editions come out on Wednesdays.
