Horncastle Target (defunct)

The Horncastle Target – in full, the Horncastle, Woodhall Spa & Coningsby Target – was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the southern part of Lincolnshire’s East Lindsey district, including the southern Lincolnshire Wolds.

It was published by Lincolnshire Media, part of Northcliffe Media, which at the time was the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper publishing division. The editorial offices were in Louth.

It was launched in 1991 as a companion to Northcliffe’s paid-for daily title for the county, the Lincolnshire Echo (which has become a weekly since the Target‘s disappearance).

It was part of a two-title Wolds Target series together with the Louth Target, but the Horncastle edition was absorbed into the Louth one in February 2011 to form the Louth and the Wolds Target.

It came out on Wednesdays.
