Newham Recorder
It was founded in 1968 as a replacement for the East Ham Recorder, which was a slip edition of the Ilford Recorder. It’s published by Archant London, the London division of the Archant media group. The editorial offices were in East Ham, but moved to Ilford in 2010.
A sub-edition for Tower Hamlets, the Tower Hamlets Recorder, was merged with the parent newspaper in August 2008, though it was still mentioned in the masthead up until a March 2011 facelift.
Another sub-edition for Stratford and the eastern part of the London Borough of Newham, the Stratford Recorder, was launched in April 2011. It replaced a former companion freesheet, the Stratford & Newham Express, which had been in print for 145 years.
A free e-edition’s available online at the website.
It comes out on Wednesdays.
