Amersham Examiner

The Amersham Examiner – in full, the Amersham & Little Chalfont Examiner – is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in Amersham and Little Chalfont in the Chiltern district of south-eastern Buckinghamshire.

It’s published by Trinity Mirror Southern from their Uxbridge headquarters and is a sub-edition of their newspaper the Buckinghamshire Examiner. However, it hasn’t always been so – its origins lie in an Amersham, Chesham, Missenden & District sub-edition, established in 1961, of the Examiner‘s sister title, the Buckinghamshire Advertiser. In 1974 it gained a separate title as the Amersham, Chesham Advertiser; it dropped Chesham from the title in 1983 but restored it briefly as the Amersham & Chesham Advertiser in 1993 before becoming the Amersham Advertiser again in 1994.

It switched parent newspaper in 2002 to become the Amersham Examiner; Little Chalfont was added to the title in 2008.

It used to share the Buckinghamshire Examiner‘s website, but now has a web presence through local pages on Trinity Mirror Southern’s new getbucks.co.uk website, launched in September 2013.

Like its parent, it comes out on Thursdays.
