Leyland Guardian
The Leyland Guardian is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the town of Leyland in central Lancashire, including nearby Whittle-le-Wolds, Clayton Green, Farington and Earnshaw Bridge.
It was launched in 1959 as a separate edition of what was then The Chorley Guardian and Leyland Advertiser. It went through a brief flurry of name changes in 1990 (South Ribble Guardian) and 1991 (Leyland and South Ribble Guardian) before reverting to its original title in 1992.
It’s published by Preston-based Lancashire Evening Post Ltd, a branch of nationwide publishers of regional newspapers Johnston Press. It shares editorial offices (in Chorley) with the Chorley Guardian.
It comes out on Wednesdays.
