Warrington Midweek

The Warrington Midweek is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the northern Cheshire towns of Warrington and Lymm.

It’s published by Newsquest (North West), the local division of the nationwide Newsquest Media Group.

It was founded in 1979 as the midweek edition of the paid-for weekly tabloid newspaper the Warrington Guardian. It was relaunched as a separate title, the Warrington Guardian Midweek, in 1981; after two further name changes, to the Midweek Guardian in 1987 and then to the Guardian Midweek in 1990, it finally settled on its current title in 2005.

In June 2011 it expanded to two editions: North (by far the bigger in circulation) and South. However, the two editions were recombined in late January 2013.

It shares a website and editorial offices in Warrington with its parent title.

It comes out on Tuesdays. An e-edition’s also available free on the website.
