Stroud News & Journal

The Stroud News & Journal is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the Gloucestershire town of Stroud and the surrounding area as far afield as Berkeley, Tetbury, Painswick and Hardwicke.

It was created in 1957 with the amalgamation of the Stroud News (founded in 1867 as the Stroud News and Gloucestershire Advertiser) and the Stroud Journal (founded in 1854). It’s published by Newsquest (Gloucestershire) from editorial offices in Stroud.

There’s a companion freesheet, the Gloucestershire Independent.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
