Andersonstown News
The Andersonstown News is a twice-weekly tabloid newspaper sold in central and West Belfast, including the suburb which gives it its name. (It’s also known colloquially as the “Andytown News”, and satirically as the “Angrytown News”.)
It was founded in 1972. It’s published by the Belfast Media Group, who also publish the North Belfast News and the South Belfast News and were responsible for Ireland’s only Irish-language daily newspaper, Lá Nua, which closed in December 2009. The editorial offices are in Belfast.
Its political stance is nationalist; it generally (though not uncritically) supports Sinn Féin.
It comes out on Mondays and Thursdays. Both editions are available as e-editions from the Belfast Media Group website by paid subscription.
