Slough & South Bucks Express

The Slough & South Bucks Express – usually referred to simply as the Slough Express – is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to households in and around the town of Slough in south Buckinghamshire.

Its origins lie in its much older sister title, the Windsor & Eton Express, which was founded in 1812. However, it took nearly a century for Slough to feature in that newspaper’s masthead; it appeared for the first time in 1909. And it wasn’t until 1983 that the town acquired its own edition of the newspaper: the Slough, Windsor & Eton Express. It became the Slough Express in 1986, then the Slough & Langley Express in 1994, and reverted to the Slough Express title in 2001 before adopting its present name in 2003.

It’s a companion to a paid-for weekly parent newspaper, the Maidenhead Advertiser. Both are published by Baylis Media (formerly Baylis & Co (The Maidenhead Advertiser) Ltd), and governed by a charitable trust set up by proprietor Louis Baylis in 1962.

The editorial offices are in Maidenhead.

It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition’s also available free on the website.
