Newport Advertiser

The Newport Advertiser is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the Shropshire market town of Newport, including the nearby small towns of Shifnal and Albrighton in Shropshire and Gnosall in neighbouring Staffordshire.

It was founded in 1854. It’s published by Shropshire Newspapers, a branch of the Midland News Association, who also publish the evening Shropshire Star. The editorial offices are in Newport.

The Advertiser is one of two newspapers in a two-title series for north-eastern Shropshire; the other is the Market Drayton Advertiser, which was part of the Newport & Market Drayton Advertiser (as the Advertiser was known from 1869 until 1981) before becoming a free-standing title.

It comes out on Fridays.
