Eastern Daily Press
It was founded in 1870 as a broadsheet, the Eastern Counties Daily Press, but dropped the word “Counties” from its title just two years later. It’s published by Archant Norfolk, part of the Norwich-based Archant media group’s Archant Anglia division.
The editorial offices are at Archant’s headquarters in Norwich. There are also regional offices in Beccles, Cromer, Dereham, Fakenham, Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn elsewhere in Norfolk; in Beccles, Diss and Lowestoft in Suffolk; and a London office in the Press Gallery of the House of Commons.
There were four editions until 2012:
- Main
- West & Fens
- North & South
- Waveney (formerly Coastal)
However, in that year the number was doubled to eight, with the separation of the North & South edition into two separate editions, the creation of local editions for Dereham and the North Norfolk Coast, and the addition of a Final edition for Norwich. After a further reorganisation in 2013, the list of editions was as follows:

- West Norfolk
- Mid & South
- North
- Waveney
An e-edition (paid at varying rates for single editions and monthly or yearly subscriptions) is also available on the website.
As of 2012 it claimed to be the UK’s biggest-selling regional morning newspaper, with a circulation consistently averaging just under 60,000 for several years. It’s said to be the only regional British newspaper to outsell The Sun in its circulation area.
