Buntingford & Royston Mercury

The Buntingford & Royston Mercury is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the towns of Buntingford and Royston in northern Hertfordshire.

It’s part of the Hertfordshire Mercury series, which was founded in 1772 and is published by Herts & Essex Newspapers, part of the Iliffe News & Media group. The editorial offices are in Hertford.

It was launched in 1990 as a Royston & Buntingford sub-edition of the Hertfordshire Mercury, but became a free-standing title as the Royston & Buntingford Mercury in 1995. The order of the two towns was reversed in 2006.

It comes out on Thursdays. There’s also an e-edition of the main Hertfordshire Mercury available by email by paid subscription.
