Castle Point Yellow Advertiser

The Castle Point Yellow Advertiser (described in its masthead as the Rochford, Rayleigh, Canvey Island Yellow Advertiser) is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the Borough of Castle Point in South Essex, including the towns of Rochford, Benfleet, Canvey Island, Hadleigh and Rayleigh.

It’s part of a group of several Yellow Advertiser newspapers covering West and South Essex and eastern and north-eastern Greater London. The group was founded in 1976 (the Castle Point Yellow Advertiser started slightly later, in 1978) and acquired from Trinity Mirror by Tindle Newspapers in 2007. All are based in Basildon.

Despite the name, the series is printed on ordinary white newsprint, although the word “Yellow” in the masthead is that colour.

It comes out on Thursdays. A free e-edition is also available via the website.
