Alfreton Chad
The Alfreton Chad is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the town of Alfreton in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire and for other nearby towns, including Somercotes and Swanwick (also in Amber Valley), Pinxton and South Normanton (Bolsover), and Selston (Ashfield District in Nottinghamshire).
It’s published by North Notts Newspapers (part of nationwide regional newspaper publishers Johnston Press) as a companion title to the paid-for weekly tabloid the Mansfield Chad, which claims to be the second largest weekly regional newspaper in the United Kingdom. On its foundation in 1989 it was the Alfreton editon of the Chad; it was relaunched as a title in its own right in 2011.
It’s produced by the same editorial staff, based in Mansfield, and has a web presence through the paid title’s site (the link below is to the Alfreton news section).
It comes out on Fridays.
