Brackley & Towcester Advertiser

The Brackley & Towcester Advertiser is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the towns of Brackley and Towcester in the district of South Northamptonshire.

It was apparently founded in 1972 as the Brackley News, a local edition of the Buckingham & Winslow Advertiser. (An earlier Brackley Advertiser ceased publication in that year; the two newspapers do not appear to be related.) Since then it’s undergone a number of title changes, becoming the Brackley Advertiser for just four weeks in March-April 1974 and then the Towcester & Brackley Advertiser until March 1981; it then spent three years as simply The Advertiser before settling on its present title in May 1984.

It’s part of an Advertiser & Review series of weekly tabloids sold in the North Bucks/NE Oxon/SW Northants area and published by Premier Newspapers, part of Johnston Press‘s South Midlands division. It shares a website and editorial offices in Buckingham with the Buckingham & Winslow Advertiser and the other title in the series, the Bicester Review.

It comes out on Fridays.
