Lincoln Target (defunct)

The Lincoln Target was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to households in the city of Lincoln and nearby commuter towns and villages such as Washingborough, Saxilby, Waddington and Nettleham.

It was founded in 1982 and published by Lincolnshire Media Ltd, who also publish the paid-for weekly tabloid newspaper the Lincolnshire Echo. Lincolnshire Media is a subsidiary of Northcliffe Media, which in turn was part of the Daily Mail & General Trust before becoming part of the new Local World group in November 2012.

It had no website of its own; the link below is to Northcliffe’s thisislincolnshire.co.uk portal website.

The editorial offices were in Lincoln.

It came out on Thursdays.

The Target ceased publication in mid-July 2012, with the launch of the new West Lincolnshire edition of the Lincolnshire Echo.
