Mansfield & Ashfield Recorder (defunct)

The Mansfield & Ashfield Recorder was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed in and around the Nottinghamshire towns of Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

It was founded in 1980 as the Mansfield & Sutton Recorder. It was published by the Nottingham Post Group, a division of what was then the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper arm, Northcliffe Media. It was part of a wider group together with the Nottingham Recorder and the Nottingham & Long Eaton Recorder.

It came out on Thursdays.

Nottingham Post Group closed the Recorder at the end of January 2010, citing “severe economic pressure” as the reason.

It had no web presence of its own. Its entry on the Northcliffe Media group website has now been withdrawn.
