Northants Herald & Post

The Northants Herald & Post is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the town and Borough of Northampton, Brackley and Towcester in South Northamptonshire, Wellingborough in the district of that name, Rushden in the district of East Northamptonshire, and surrounding smaller towns and villages including Irthlingborough and Higham Ferrers.

It dates back to 1981 and the founding of a multi-title Northants Herald & Post series. Until 2008 the series was published by Midland Weekly Media, part of the nationwide Trinity Mirror group, but was then taken over by LSN Media Ltd, part of the Iliffe News & Media group and thus part of the Local World group since the end of 2012.

Up until early 2009 there were as many as seven titles in the series, but by 2013 only the Northampton Herald & Post and the Wellingborough & Rushden Herald & Post remained. The two titles merged at the end of 2013.

The website has separate news sections for Northampton and for Wellingborough and Rushden. The editorial offices moved from central Northampton to a new “media hub” on the eastern outskirts in March 2012.

It comes out on Thursdays. An e-edition’s also available free online.
