Southport Visiter

The Southport Visiter (sic) is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the seaside town of Southport and surrounding parts of northern Merseyside (or south-west Lancashire), including the towns of Ormskirk, Formby and Crosby.

It was established in 1844. It’s published by Trinity Mirror Merseyside, part of the nationwide Trinity Mirror group’s North West & Wales division. The editorial offices are in Southport.

Since 1988 it’s had a companion freesheet, the Midweek Visiter, which shares the editorial offices and website.

It comes out on Fridays.
