Portsmouth & Southsea Journal (defunct)
The Portsmouth & Southsea Journal was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the Hampshire port city of Portsmouth and its suburb of Southsea.
It was established in 1984 by Portsmouth Publishing & Printing Ltd (part of the nationwide Johnston Press group of regional and local newspapers), as one in a series of three companions to its daily paid-for title The News. Of the other two, one covered Fareham and Gosport and the other covered Havant and Waterlooville.
It had no website of its own: the link below is to The News‘s website.
It came out on Thursdays.
The Journal series was withdrawn from publication at the end of October 2012 to enable resources to be focused on producing the newly relaunched News.
