Avon Advertiser

The Avon Advertiser is a series of weekly freesheet tabloid newspapers distributed to homes across southern Wiltshire, western Hampshire and north-eastern Dorset.

It was launched in 1978 as a single title, but split into separate editions – Hants & Dorset, Salisbury & Andover and Wimborne & Ferndown – in 1983.

There are three editions:

The first two are published by Salisbury Newspapers, a branch of Newsquest (Southern), as a companion to their paid-for title for the area, the Salisbury Journal. The Wimborne & Ferndown Avon Advertiser is published as a companion to the Bournemouth-based Daily Echo.

All come out on Wednesdays. E-editions of all three titles are available on their parent newspapers’ respective websites.
