The Star (Mid Devon)
The Star is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes and available by pickup from participating shops in the towns of Tiverton, Crediton and Cullompton, nearby villages in eastern Mid Devonshire, and Wellington across the county boundary in Somerset.
It was founded in 1985 as the Mid Devon Star, but changed to its present title in December 2012 (although the website’s masthead still bears the old title). At the same time its circulation area expanded to include Wellington; an earlier freesheet The Star, which covered Taunton and Wellington, ceased publication at the same time.
It’s published by Newsquest (South West), the division of the Newsquest Media Group for the region. The editorial offices are in Taunton.
It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition’s available online through the website.
