Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard

The Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard is a tabloid weekly newspaper sold across south-eastern Gloucestershire and northern Wiltshire.

It’s published by Newsquest (Wales & Gloucestershire). It has two editions and, unusually, two offices: the main Wiltshire and Gloucestershire (Cotswold) edition with offices in Cirencester, and a North Wiltshire edition with offices in Malmesbury.

It was launched in 1837 and, unusually, has more or less kept the same name almost uninterrupted since then, although initially the word The preceded the title. However, for some time up to 2002 the two editions were called the Malmesbury Standard and the Cotswold Standard respectively; from 1986 in the case of the main edition, from 2000 for the Malmesbury edition.

It comes out on Thursdays.
