Mid-Ulster Echo (defunct)
The Mid-Ulster Echo was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the towns of Cookstown in eastern County Tyrone and Magherafelt in south-eastern County Derry, and for villages in the area.
It was launched in 1994. It was published by Morton Newspapers, part of the UK-wide Johnston Press regional newspaper publishing group. It was a companion to the weekly paid-for tabloid newspaper the Mid-Ulster Mail, and shared that newspaper’s editorial offices in Cookstown, as well as the website.
It came out on Mondays. It was still being published up to the end of 2008, but appears to have ceased publication shortly thereafter.
