Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter

The Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter (often shortened to simply the Dumbarton Reporter, as for instance in its website’s URL) is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town of Dumbarton and more widely across the Vale of Leven and West Dunbartonshire, including the towns of Repton and Alexandria.

It was launched in March 1964 under the title County Reporter for Dumbarton and Vale of Leven, expanded slightly in 1970 to County Reporter for Dumbarton, Vale of Leven, etc. In 1987 it first replaced the County with The, then adopted its present simplified title.

It’s published by Clyde Weekly Press, a branch of the Romanes Media Group (formerly Clyde & Forth Press). The editorial offices are in Clydebank and are shared with Clyde Weekly Press’s other titles: the Barrhead News, the Clydebank Post, the Helensburgh Advertiser and the Paisley & Renfrewshire Gazette.

It comes out on Tuesdays.
