Llwchwr Star (defunct)

The Llwchwr Star was a local sub-edition of the Llanelli Star weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the Cwm Llwchwr (Loughor Valley) district on the border of Carmarthenshire and West Glamorgan.

It first appeared in 1953. Latterly it was published by Swansea-based South West Wales Media Ltd, a division of what was then the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper publishing division, Northcliffe Media (now part of Local World). It shared its parent title’s editorial offices in Llanelli.

Its web presence (and that of the Llanelli Star) was via Northcliffe’s website for the whole region, thisissouthwales.co.uk.

It came out on Wednesdays. It was still in publication in 2008, but appears to have ceased publication by 2010.
